It's the movement of Neil's hand that catches his attention, that really makes him see. He's spent so much time looking at Neil--him and the memories he carries around with him--and he knows Neil's movements, the turn of his hands, set of his shoulders, gait, cant of hips, arch of spine. And he knows what this means.

He swallows past sudden tightness in his throat, reaches down and catches Neil's hand in his. "Okay," he says. "At least we're there together, I guess."
